Winners and runners-up were chosen in 10 categories – ranging from innovative solutions in tackling climate change to inspiring future generations – after more than 50 people and organisations were nominated.
REMOURBAN was commended for is “brilliant ideas to modernise the urban environment and cut CO2” using deep renovation, smart meters and major improvements to the city’s district heating system. Judges also appreciated the new electric mobility infrastructure and easing delivery traffic in the city center.
The awards were run in conjunction with the Nottinghamshire Wildlife Trust, Nottinghamshire County Council and Veolia. Speaking at the event, Erin McDaid, of the trust, said: "These awards provide the perfect opportunity to celebrate all the positive action that is being taken to make our county a greener place to live…Hopefully their efforts will help inspire others to do more."
