The latter has left several neighborhoods in decay, many unused buildings, vast empty industrial halls and polluted brownfields. Trasenster is one of the neighborhoods that will be reorganized and re-planned within the next years. Several redevelopment plans, not yet completely defined, are proposed. The opinion and the involvement of residents are also desired!
In late June, at the initiative of the "creative hub" of Seraing, a festive meeting was held with residents at the former townhall of the neighborhood. The district planning projects were presented: the renovation of the concert hall, named “OM”, for musical events; the construction of new buildings for companies in the field of culture and art; the re-opening of the rail line 125A, which will stop in the neighborhood; Partial development of a large industrial hall in multi-modal parking lot; and the renovation of the town hall building, with high energy performance to accommodate new activities. The technology center, CARTIF, the Remourban project leader, is currently conducting an energy study on the building.
Participatory workshops with the residents had already taken place in 2014 and an exhibition, "Welcome to Trasenster" had been designed. One can again discover it during 4 months at the townhall! The people will be asked in the future to express their ideas and to participate in thematic workshops. The installation of a multi-modal parking in the industrial halls leaves a large space for the development of other activities. Citizens will be notably asked to express their ideas about it ... The smart solutions for the renovation of buildings, for multi-modal parking, and development activities are being considered to transform and make the neighborhood sustainable and pleasant for citizens.
