The retrofitting intervention will result in average energy savings of 5,000 kWh and CO2 emission reduction of 28 Lifetime tons per property (average of 74.5 kWh/m2yr of savings of heating costs)
From the district heating intervention initial estimate of 300 MWh/year (10.594 kWh/m2yr) has been made.
Solar Thermal - production of a further 19.5MWh/year. This equates to 0.688 kWh/m2yr.
The photovoltaic array generates approximately 66MWh/year of electricity or approximately 2.33 kWh/m2yr.
So, the total contribution of renewable energy facilities will be 13.614 kWh/m2yr.
The manufacturers of the electric bus, Optare, specify savings in fuel of 10,500 euros saving per annum (dependent upon duty cycle) including service cost. The last mile delivery service will eliminate the necessity for HGVs to enter the urban environment on their first or final leg of their journeys. Result in fuel and CO2 reduction and an ease for the traffic in the city centre.
The City Car Club Nottingham will save €4,300 motoring cost per resident and more than 11 tonnes of CO2 per year (1.392 ton CO2 per car per year).
