This year’s European Smart Projects Summit will be hosted by the City of San Sebastian, coordinator of the REPLICATE project.
Like REMOURBAN, REPLICATE is a member of the Smart Cities Partnership, which gathers 14 projects, representing 40 lighthouse cities and 53 fellow cities which have the objective to transform their urban environment into smart and sustainable places.
The European Smart Projects Summit will be held on 26 and 27 March 2019; it will provide an opportunity for an exchange across participants to Lighthouse projects, policymakers and actors interested in urban transformation programs.
The event will be a combination of plenary and parallel sessions. The morning of the 26th March will see the intervention from representatives of San Sebastian and the European Commission, as well as high-level speakers sharing their knowledge and vision about the smart cities. In the afternoon, there will be six sessions dedicated on specific topics in the area of the Smart Cities.
On the second day, participants will be invited to visit the Urumea Riverside District, to see some of the actions which have been implemented in the city under the REPLICATE coordination.
Coordinators and representatives of the Task Groups from the 14 lighthouse projects represented in the partnership will also meet up in San Sebastian to catch up on progress and plan conjoint initiatives. REMOURBAN will be represented by Cristina Torre de Minguela (CARTIF), Baha Kuban (Demir Energji) and Elisabeth Schmid (youris.com).
