This year around 1000 smart water meters were installed in the municipality’s institutions and rented apartments of the city.
In Miskolc, the consumption and production of electricity, natural gas and water volume can be measured uniquely in municipal-owned institutions. With the completion of the existing smart metering installations approximately 2200 endpoints will be included in the project. The city's energy production uses sewage sludge, utilizes gas from the dump site to heat residential housing and operates a biomass plant. The smart meters in Miskolc are divided between public institutions and apartments: there are 177 public institutions and 500 apartments already have a smart meter that does not have to be read, with the transponder the data and the possible errors have been sent directly to the headquarters.
