As every year, the Arebs hosted last Thursday, April 26, a group of trainees from Microbus training center, located in Liège.
The center offers training to people in professional reintegration, in the fields of emerging technologies, computer and office automation, personal development, and economy and finance. The smart city approach of the city of Seraing and its participation in the H2020 European project REMOURBAN, illustrates in a concrete way how a city can use emerging digital technologies to put them at the service of urban development and the well-being of citizens. Projects of urban transformation, energy renovation of buildings or related to sustainable mobility are on the agenda of the masterplan of the City of Seraing, which wants to change its image of an old industrial city into a green and sustainable city. The trainees had the opportunity to discuss different aspects of the smart city and to have a critical look on the use made of the technology, and came out with a certain astonishment of the dynamism and transformation of the city!
