Investments into sustainable energy initiatives supporting a clean energy transition are expected to bring jobs and sustainable growth, lower energy bills and health, to for benefit of all European citizens.
It is fundamental to learn from ongoing projects which have studied and successfully launched financial schemes to sustain such initiatives.
A valuable opportunity will be provided by the Covenant of Mayors Investment Forum – Energy Efficiency Finance Market Place”, which will take place in Brussels on 20th February 2019 . The Forum is organised by the European Commission's Directorate-Generals for Energy, Climate Action and the Executive Agency for Small and medium-sized Enterprises (EASME) in collaboration with the Covenant of Mayors.
At the market place a series of interactive workshops will be organised where 30 success stories will be presented. These success stories will be around six thematic strands: Sustainable energy planning, Financing clean urban transport, Financing energy efficiency in the public sector, Home renovation schemes in cities and regions, Financing climate adaptation and Innovative financing schemes facilitating the market for climate and sustainable energy finance.
The forum will facilitate the discussion among key stakeholders and local administrators to present and learn about sustainable energy and climate adaptation initiatives at EU level.
H2020 Smart Cities project will be there to share their experience. REMOURBAN will be represented by two of its lighthouse cities: Rosa Huertas from Valladolid City Council and Peter Saunders from Nottingham City Council.
