The prize was granted by the president of the Local Development Professional Association of Castile and Leon (ADELCYL), Angel Moraleda, in a ceremony attended by the Finance, Public Administration and Economic Development Councilor, Juan Antonio Casado, and ADELCYL Vice President, Jesus Boyano.
For the city of Valladolid the electric mobility is a key element in achieving one of the Europe 2020 objectives. The award recognizes the commitment of the city to sustainable growth and the transition towards a low carbon economy.
Actions in the promotion of electric vehicles as an alternative transport mode have been taken so far in Valladolid from a comprehensive, sustainable and pragmatic vision. However, the global sustainable mobility strategy started with the Electric Car charging points V&P pilot plan launched in 2010 and the culmination of this mobility strategy has been the approval of “The Clean Vehicles Program” (2014) which is one of the cornerstones of REMOURBAN lighthouse project.
